Under the SSC CGL 2021 Recruitment, candidates between the ages of 18 and 30 are eligible to apply for Inspector Posts in the Department of Post. Inspector Posts in Postal Departments require a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or comparable educational degree. As a result, graduates between the ages of 18 and 30 are eligible to apply for this position.

A candidate who requires a certificate of eligibility may be accepted to the test, but the offer of appointment will be made only when the Government of India has issued him the appropriate eligibility certificate.

👮🏻‍♂️Salary Structure of Postal Inspector👮🏻‍♂️

The pay scale of a Postal Inspector ranges from Rs.44900 to 142400 with grade pay of Rs.4600 in addition to permissible allowances by the Central Govt. As per the 7th Pay Commission, Postal Inspector would get a salary of around 50,000/- pm initially (can be varied a little as per place of posting).

The Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication for more than 150 years, and it has played a critical role in the country’s social-economic development. It affects Indian citizens in a variety of ways, including delivering mail, accepting deposits under Small Savings Schemes, providing life insurance coverage under Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI), and providing retail services such as bill collection, form sales, and so on. The Department of Personnel also functions as an agent for the Government of India in providing various services to citizens, such as wage disbursement under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and payments of old age pensions.

Assistant Superintendents are the initial promotion for postal inspectors in postal subdivisions, divisional, regional, and circle offices, as well as the Postal Directorate in New Delhi. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Postal Inspector in any division may be required for the first promotion. Candidates may be promoted to Superintendents in Postal/RMS Divisions and Assistant Directors in regional/circle offices after that.
